Background:

I am a motivated and enthusiastic Computer Science graduate who possesses skills in distributed systems, web development, artificial intelligence and proficient in multiple programming languages such as C++, C#, JavaScript, Python and HTML/CSS.

My bachelor’s degree was in Computer Science at the University of Hull and my final year project was the development of a distributed cloud storage solution aimed at companies to keep sensitive business documentation and data secure. This software also had a framework in place to integrate blockchain technology to further secure data and ensure transparent business transactions for auditing purposes. This entire system was made extremely flexible and lightweight without compromising security with the use of a combination of asymmetric and symmetric cryptography in addition to industry standard principles.

Research Interests:

My research interests focus on digitisation and automation of tasks to reduce potential human errors and increased efficiency. The research into this is centred around artificial intelligence and systems that can process substantial amounts of data while providing live feedback to operators from continuously evolving machine learning models. An example of where this kind of concept would be used are Digital Twins, specifically relating to Offshore Wind Farms and the data they produce.

Why you applied for the Aura CDT:

I applied for the Aura CDT programme as I am driven by a deep passion for advancing the field of computer science. I believe that renewable energy, especially wind energy will be an even more critical field in the future. Pursuing this PhD will enable me to contribute to the academic community and equip me with the knowledge and expertise needed to play a significant role in accelerating the transition towards clean and sustainable energy sources.

My research:

Following completion of my PG Dip year with the Aura CDT, I will be Researching OPtimisation EXplainability (OPEX) for Maintenance Scheduling of Offshore Wind Farms at the University of Hull
