The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Offshore Wind Energy Sustainability and Resilience

Training

The EPSRC CDT in Offshore Wind Energy Sustainability and Resilience delivers world-leading training and research to prepare a new generation of offshore wind industry leaders.

You launch your CDT journey with a six-month intensive training programme, based at the University of Hull in the heart of the Humber – the UK’s Energy Estuary. The Humber is the home to the world’s largest offshore wind farms, as well as the Siemens Blade Factory, Ørsted’s East Coast Energy Hub and the Offshore Renewable (ORE) Catapult’s Operations & Maintenance Centre of Excellence.

CDT students enrol at the university where their doctoral research will be based, in addition to enrolling at the University of Hull for the initial 6 month training period. If your research will be based at Durham, Loughborough or Sheffield, we may be able to offer 6 month, on campus University of Hull rental contracts to cover the initial training period.

Bringing you upto speed with a fast-moving industry

This initial taught programme covers the breadth and depth of current and emerging offshore wind sector challenges.

You will develop strong relationships within your own cohort and with existing students.

The interdisciplinary training environment ensures you gain a broad understanding of issues beyond your own academic discipline.
