If you choose to carry out your postgraduate studies with us, you will become part of a vibrant, forward-thinking research community.
With a strong research base, the Energy and Environment Institute at the University of Hull has made tremendous contributions to tackle global issues encompassing environmental resilience and energy sustainability. With our academic partners at the Universities of Durham, Newcastle and Sheffield and over 20 international industry partners, the Aura CDT forms a community of outstanding researchers.
As a student, you will benefit from individual and tailored mentoring support, with appropriate mentors selected from our academic and industrial partners. Combined with excellent facilities across a wide range of disciplines, the Aura CDT provides a stimulating and enriching environment for the training of doctoral researchers.
Each year, we offer up to 20 Core Scholarships, comprising funding for first-year PG-Dip training, during which students develop their research proposal. Followed by three years full time PhD research at one of the partner institutions.
We also work closely with key offshore wind sector organisations to develop funded Industry Partner Scholarships. Students on this pathway take their PG-Dip year with the rest of the cohort before embarking on a 3-year PhD at a specified institution, supported by their Industry sponsor. We currently have three co-funded projects on offer with partners the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and one with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
Applications are OPEN until 24 January 2021 for Industry Partner Scholarships enrolling September 2021. See information on How to Apply.
