Raha Hamzeloian
Background:
I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Tehran, where my dissertation explored the impact of total factory growth on employment levels in Iran’s industrial labour market. Throughout my studies, I engaged with a wide range of academic literature and workshops, which sparked my interest in interdisciplinary research. I also worked as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Tehran, Beheshti University, and the ICT Research Institute, where my academic adventure truly began.
Research Interests:
My research interests include macroeconomics, labour markets, development economics, the digital economy, and other interdisciplinary approaches, and now I focused on integrating macroeconomics with offshore wind energy. I’m genuinely curious about how emerging renewable technologies like offshore wind can influence macroeconomic dynamics and reshape labour markets.
Why you applied for the Aura CDT:
I applied to the AURA CDT because it offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of macroeconomics and renewable energy—an area I’m deeply passionate about. The programme’s interdisciplinary approach, industry collaboration, and focus on sustainability align with my academic goals and personal concerns about global warming and rising energy demand. It also allows me to challenge myself, grow professionally, and contribute to real-world solutions.
